Ride 'em Cowgirl!

This is the super yummiest yarn I have ever worked with! It's squishy and soft and the colors are oh so lovely!  The colorway is by Dashing Dachs, called Stallions. So pretty!! I had to send this off before I could get my usual photographer to take pics, so these are my untalented phone pics.  They do not do justice to the colors.  I tried these on Jonah and they fit him perfectly, but it was naptime, and he was NOT cooperative, so I didn't get any pictures of him modeling.  When I tried the hat on him, he immediately went to the family room and dug out Toy Story so he could watch Woody in costume!  So cute <3 .="" p="">

Mr. Grinch

Sometimes I think I might be a genius.  I'm pretty proud of this outfit.  I almost wish I had made it for my niece, cuz then I'd get to hold it and pet it :).  Made with Berroco Ultra Alpaca, sized 0-3 months, and modeled on my gorgeous little niece Kynslie.

Winter Hats

Every year a mama from Canada orders a couple of winter hats from me for her little boy.  Sometimes she orders gifts for friends too.  I don't do hats for money, really.  I only charge $15, which covers the cost of yarn basically. I love doing them though. They're a quick, easy project that invariably make me smile because most of the time people want really cute things.  Like these :D

You're welcome,

USC Trojans!

This was a fun project.  A sweet friend of mine didn't think she had mad enough skillz to handle this.  I bet she did, but I'm glad she passed it on to me anyway.  I made it with Plymouth Select Worsted Merino Superwash yarn, which is squishy wonderfulness.

Hallie's Slouchy Hat

My niece's favorite colors are orange and turquoise.  Together, for preference.  She's been asking for a hat for years. I'm such a terrible aunt to my older nieces and nephews.  I finally got around to making her a hat for her 13th birthday.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out.  My model here is my 7 year old. He wasn't happy about this.  I promised I wouldn't show it to anyone, but... well... I'm nothing if not a terrible parent :).

BTW, I totally love this color of orange.  It's just a touch pinkish.  Very pretty in real life, and very hard to photograph. I'm also modeling it.  You'll probably never see my face more than this... I really hate having my picture taken :)

Itsy Bitsy Monsters

I made these for a friend whose twins were born at 23 weeks.  I should have taken a picture of them in my hand... they're about the size of my palm.  I just about died of squee while I was making them!

The Fox and the... Deer?

Every once in a while I get someone who doesn't have children who wants something special.  I LOVE these people.  I love doing new and different things. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore designing and knitting for little ones, but it's refreshing to do something different every once in a while.  And this was very different, very refreshing, and I'm very pleased with how they came out... and now I need a deer hat with little antlers.

These were made with a different blend of alpaca and wool.  The yarn is called Lima made by Drops. Very nice, squishy, soft, lovely.  I still like Berroco Ultra Alpaca better, but this yarn is a little heavier and therefore perfect for this project.  I'm sure I'll use it again in the future.  I just wish it came in bigger skeins.

The patterns for these adorable items came from Tiny Owl Knits. Very unusual and beautiful designs. Someday maybe I'll be a designer of this caliber.  Maybe.  For now, I just need to find time to get my own monkeys, monsters and owlies written and published.

Old McDonald... AGAIN!

This is apparently my new Skullie... as in I'm getting lots of requests for it!  I'll have another one, slightly different to post in a couple weeks.  New to this edition is the hat.  I love the hat.  My design, but inspired by a hat I saw on Ravelry.  Modeled by my gorgeous niece Livvy... but only because my little guy Jonah was asleep at the time.

Wanna hear the funny part?  I ordered extra yarn so I could make a pair of these for Jonah... and then I got another order for The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  So I'm gonna have to order more for my little guy.  You'd think I'd have the best dressed baby on the planet. Le sigh. If only I actually had time to knit for my own family!
This is Jonah modeling the hat. Not a great pic, but he's just so darn cute!  We were having peanut butter sandwiches for lunch... he was helping spread the peanut butter :D.

Hats!

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything. Shame on me! We've had a new baby (okay... he just turned one) we moved to a new city (all right... 7 months ago) and we've all been sick all winter. Those are okay excuses to not have posted anything, right? Okay I know. No excuse. I actually have done many projects, but I haven't been able to get pictures of all of them before I sent them off or gave them away. I'll do my best to catch up. We'll start with some hats that went to Canada a few weeks ago. These are all my own pattern except the Koala hat which was bought at the request of the mama who ordered the hats. I love love LOVE how soft the yarn is that I used for the Koala hat. The owls are made with my favorite Berroco Ultra Alpaca with trims in whatever, and the monster is Cestari. Enjoy! By the way, I LOVE the eyes on that little girlie owl. I'll definitely be using those again!

My Little One's Coming Home Outfit

Here's my sweet little guy modeling his outfit.  He came naturally on January 6th, weighing 8lbs, 20 inches long. We named him Jonah Michael, and we're utterly and completely head over heels in love with him <3

Monster Set

Yes, this is a repeat of Owie's monster outfit... but who can blame the mama for wanting it?  It's ADORABLE if I do say so myself, and I do :D  I need to get to work on a set for my little newbie.  Made from Cleckheaton Country 8ply washable wool.  After machine washing it, it didn't even look like I'd done anything to it at all. It was absolutely perfect, and nice and soft.  It's listed as DK weight, but it's really more of a light worsted.  I'm definitely gonna have to revisit this yarn for future washables.

Adorable Livvy!

This is my niece Livvy in an adorable outfit I made her... I sure hope my new baby is HALF as cute as she is! And just so everyone is properly impressed, she's not even 7 months old, and is already crawling and sitting up by herself! My sister says she's even starting to pull herself up! She's in big trouble if you ask me. Livvy is very petite also. Most of her clothes that fit are still 0-3 months. Love this bitty girl!

Girly Monster Hat

Look! Isn't she about the cutest thing EVER?!?! Thanks to Lauren for letting me borrow this adorable pic of her baby in this hat :) Yeah... gotta get me a girl! Only I'm pretty darn sure I'll never have one with those pretty brown eyes.

Halloween Longies and Pumpkin Hat WIP

The longies are done, but I ran out of orange and haven't finished the hat. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that my local yarn shop has the right color in stock! The hat will eventually have a stem and leaves on it :).

Saturday Morning Project

I have a million things on my to-do list, not to mention my wait list on Etsy, but sometimes, I have to take a break for one of my favorite people.

Anson, my 4 year old, has a Woody Doll (that we borrowed from a friend and haven't had a chance to give back yet... I'm just gonna have to buy it from the friend... I don't think he's going to agree to give it back to the original owner!) that doesn't have a hat. He's been very creative in substituting other things for a hat. He's used cups, lids, bottle rings, and ring toys. He's so imaginative. But I really felt like it was time for Woody to have a real hat. And I haven't knit or crocheted anything for my boys pretty much since they were born. What a bad momma I am! So this morning, I decided to make Woody a hat. Anson watched over my shoulder the entire time I was making it, taking it to try on at regular intervals. It was very quickly done, and completely improvised, but he seems to be happy with it, so I am too :).

Please ignore the mess. I'm a terrible housekeeper.

Owen's Monster Outfit

Oh cute Owen! It took a long time to finally get this outfit done for you. I'm sorry sweet baby! I need to start putting family on my waiting list so they don't have to wait a year to get something they want.

But isn't he the cutest nephew ever! Okay... so I have several nephews, and they're all incredibly adorable in their own special ways. Owen is just my cutest modeling nephew... because he's the only nephew I've had model stuff... :)

These longies are so much fun to make! These ones are made in acrylic and I thought they would hold up better than they have. I'll have to make him some wool ones when he gets too big for these ones. This particular acrylic is really pilly! I hate that. Shelley (Owen's mommy) still loves them and he wears them about once a week, so I guess that's okay :). I totally love the horns! I wasn't at all sure how they would turn out. I really had no idea what I was doing when I did them, but they're incredibly cute! I've had lots of compliments on them. Maybe I should offer them as an option?

Lucas

Look at my cute baby!!! I can't believe how grown up he's getting. I still think he should be a model. Looking at him makes my stomach do flip-flops. Yup... I'm in love with my little Boo-boo. Now I've got to make something big enough for Anson to model so I can get pics of him up here too!

Leslie's Trio

I absolutely LOVE this yarn! It was sent to me by a mom who's purchased quite a few things from me and it didn't come with labels, which makes me sad because I really REALLY love it! I want to know what it is so I can get more and make more stuff with it! Heck, I'd like a hat and scarf to fit ME just like these ones!

Leslie, your little Ella is one lucky little chicky :).

Leaf Motif Blanket-Hat & Booties Ensemble

I think this is one of the first things I actually knitted. I know... looks pretty complicated, eh? I'm pretty proud of it. I wish I'd gotten more money out of it! At the time I didn't think I'd ever knit another one because it was very time consuming, but I've come a long way and I could probably do it much more quickly and with a better outcome than when I first started this whole knitting-for-profit thing. Maybe I'll have to give it a try?

Oh, and those are the first pair of socks I ever knit. Cute, huh? :)
