New Stuff in my Etsy Shop

It's very strange for me to have no custom orders floating around.  I've been working on some really cute stuff for friends and family that I'll be posting shortly, but until then, enjoy the few things I've made and put in my shop!  I've changed the eyes on the owlie skirty.  I like these better.  I also like the way I did the eyelashes, and may change the way I do them on monster bums too.  Also, I really like the dark sock monkeys.  I'm tempted to keep the shorties for my little guy.  If they don't sell before the weather starts to cool down, I think I'll take them down and keep them for myself.  Yes, I do smile at my baby's bum wandering around my house decorated by the monsters and monkeys I've made for him and for my nephews who've lent them back to me.  Enjoy!  All of these are made with 100% wool except for the owlie skirty which is alpaca wool blend, and all are size medium large fitting from about 12-24 months.

Mary had a Little Farm...

I had a client ask me to girlify the Old McDonald longies.

I'm so pleased she did!  And I'm totally STOKED at how they came out! A couple of things really made me squee with these. First, the bows.  THE BOWS!!! And the flowers.  Ok and the fence. Now I"m wishing I had a little girl of my own to make a pair for.

The same mama wanted a pair of newborn owlies.  SQUEE!!!

Hats!

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything. Shame on me! We've had a new baby (okay... he just turned one) we moved to a new city (all right... 7 months ago) and we've all been sick all winter. Those are okay excuses to not have posted anything, right? Okay I know. No excuse. I actually have done many projects, but I haven't been able to get pictures of all of them before I sent them off or gave them away. I'll do my best to catch up. We'll start with some hats that went to Canada a few weeks ago. These are all my own pattern except the Koala hat which was bought at the request of the mama who ordered the hats. I love love LOVE how soft the yarn is that I used for the Koala hat. The owls are made with my favorite Berroco Ultra Alpaca with trims in whatever, and the monster is Cestari. Enjoy! By the way, I LOVE the eyes on that little girlie owl. I'll definitely be using those again!

Hoot-Hoot Skirty

This was inspired by this hat. The more I look at it, the more I like it. It's made from washable yarns as the mama who ordered this uses AIO's and pockets (cloth diapers that don't need a cover) and didn't want to have to worry about accidentally putting it in the washer or dryer. The main colors are in Berroco Vintage, which is about 40% wool, and the rest acrylic and nylon I think. It's VERY soft, and even though the label says to lay flat to dry, I put a swatch through the dryer and it came out just beautiful. The other colors are a variety of superwash wools from Karabella, Tahki, and Dale of Norway.

Addy decided she wanted to model for me today and didn't care that these are too small! She really likes the little flowers....

Owlie BLOOMERS!

K.. now I have a new favorite. I can't wait until I get pics from my brother of these on my niece. They're SO CUTE! I love the bloomer style! I used this pattern. Yes, I could have made up my own, but I thought it would be kinda fun to learn some new techniques, and this one has a different crotch than I've worked before which I quite like. I'll definitely be using it again. The bloomers are knit in Berroco Ultra Alpaca with Plymouth Superwash Merino (blue) and Cascade 220 (green) trim. So soft and pretty! I really need a girl I think.

If you don't have a ravelry account, you should get one! I don't know if you can view that link without an account, but it's FREE and totally worth it if you're into knitting/crochet, even if you're only into shopping for it.

Here's our gorgeous little Rosie.  It doesn't show off the bloomers all that well... but MAN is she cute or WHAT?! :)  I totally have the most charming nieces in the world.
